--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•  For use in depths up to and exceeding 4,000 meters
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•  Subsea bidirectional pressure energised sealing system
provides internal and external pressure integrity
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•  Used as an integral part of the Optima subsea connector
Techlok clamp connector & other licensed products
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•  Field proven up to NPS 36” and qualified up to 20,000 psi
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Energisation : how to make the perfect seal

•  STAGE 1 : Fully open
The Duoseal is shown as being seperate from both joint faces. It is most likely that the sealring would be sitting or
located in one of  the seat pockets.

•  STAGE 2 : Point of stand off
Once the two faces have been pulled together this is the point at which all four sealing surfaces are in contact. The
stand off between the two faces can be seen (picture 1 below).

•  STAGE 3 : Fully energised
From the point of standoff to fully closed the Duoseal is self energising. Once the joint is face to face, the sealring has
gone to its maximum point of deflection. This creates the self-energisation loads required for the seal to function
    (picture 2 below).

Notes : The self energisation force is a fraction of seal geometry and is never sufficient to indent the hub faces.

Increased Efficiency from installation to removal.
The advanced Duoseal system is both effective and highly flexible. The seal ring can be installed, removed and replaced
using an ROV and by using an external test port you can ensure a full pressure closure. If things do go awry the
complete connector is removable from the hubs by ROV. There’s even an allowance for an contingency seal option to
be deployed in case of failure or seat damage.
